What Clubhouse Leader is

An iPhone app for a group of golfers running a season together: standings, tee sheets, live scoring, a draft, and a written record of who owes whom. It is a scorebook, not a bookmaker, a bank, or a handicapping authority. The handicap the app shows is a suggestion computed from the rounds your league has posted; it is not official, no golf association issues it, and no club has to accept it.

Your account

• You need one account, and it is yours alone. Do not let somebody else sign in as you.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use Clubhouse Leader, and old enough where you live to agree to terms like these.
• Tell us the truth about who you are, so the rest of your league knows who they are playing.
• Write to hello@clubhouseleader.app if you think somebody else is in your account.

Leagues, and what a commissioner can do

A league belongs to the people in it, and its commissioner runs it. Inside their league, a commissioner can add and remove seats, approve or reopen a scorecard, set a player's handicap, set the tee sheet and the money, take down a post, and hand the league to somebody else. That is the job, and joining a league means accepting that the person running it has it.

We do not arbitrate what happens inside a league. If a result is wrong, the commissioner fixes it. If a commissioner is the problem, the league can appoint a new one.

What you post

• Your posts, photos and captions stay yours. You give us permission to store them and show them to the league you put them in — which is what makes the league work — and nothing more. We do not use them to advertise and we do not show them to anybody outside your league.
• Post only what is yours to post. No harassment, no threats, no hate, no nudity, nothing illegal, nothing that would get somebody thrown off the course.
• You can delete your own posts. Your commissioner can delete anybody's. We can remove anything that breaks the rule above, and close an account that keeps breaking it.

Money

Clubhouse Leader never takes, holds, moves or refunds money. Buy-ins, wagers, skins, closest to the pin and the season ledger are a written record of what your group agreed among themselves. Marking a round “paid” is somebody ticking a box, not a receipt. Where the money actually goes is between you and your group, exactly as it was before the app existed.

That also makes the wagering your business, not ours. You are responsible for keeping whatever your group plays for legal where you play it.

What it costs

The app takes no payment today — there is nothing to buy inside it, and no card is asked for. What a season will cost is set out on the pricing section of this site. If a paid plan starts, the price and the terms of it will be shown to you before you are ever charged.

What we promise, and what we don't

We will do our best to keep the app up and your league's record intact. But Clubhouse Leader is provided as it is: we cannot promise it will never be down, never lose a card to a bad connection, or never get a number wrong. Keep your own note of anything that really matters.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us — which today is nothing.

Leaving, and being asked to leave

You can delete your account at any time from Your account in the app; what that does, exactly, is on the privacy page. We can close an account that abuses the app or the people in it. Either way, the league keeps its record of the seasons it played.

Which law applies

Not settled yet, and we are not going to invent it. Which country's and state's law these terms are under, and where a disagreement between us would be heard, is one of the things named at the top of this page as still to be written. Until it is here, nothing on this page is trying to sign you up to a court in a place you have never been.

Changes

If these terms change, this page changes and the date at the top moves. Carrying on using the app after that means you agree to what this page says then.
